Genetic Engineering Set to Override Natural Selection

What Could Go Wrong?

Fears that genetic engineering could subvert natural selection have been mostly groundless–until now.
A technique known as a “gene drive” uses molecular mechanisms to increase the inheritance of an engineered trait far above normal, all but ensuring that the offspring carry the new trait, whether harmful or not.
The highly reported CRISPR-Cas9 technology, which was introduced in 2013 and proliferated in 2016, now allows even amateurs to experiment and for low cost.
The combination of using gene drive techniques with CRISPR-Cas9 could be the release of newly created species that would, within just a dozen generations, completely push out all natural versions.

Christian Clergy Welcomes Islam Into The Church, Then Bows
There is a disturbing and growing trend in Italy and Europe.
For the first time in more than 700 years, Islamic songs resonated in Florence’s Cathedral, the Church Santa Maria del Fiore.
Under the famous Dome of Brunelleschi, Islamic melodies accompanied Christian ones. The “interfaith initiative” was promoted a week after the barbaric massacre by Islamist terrorists in Paris at the magazine Charlie Hebdo, and included “Koran is Justice” and other such “hymns”.
A priest in the south of Italy then enraged parishioners by dressing the Virgin Mary in a Muslim burqa for his church’s Christmas nativity scene.

InterVarsity Upholds Christian Teaching: And Many Don’t Like It
Recently on BreakPoint, we told you how Baptist ethicist David Gushee proclaimed there was no more middle ground on LGBT issues. He’s right. You either approve of so-called sexually progressive ideas or you don’t–and if you don’t, you’ve placed yourself in the bigoted, wrong-side-of-history category.
That’s exactly what happened with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Earlier this month, IV informed employees that they were expected to align with traditional Christian teaching on marriage and human sexuality. If they couldn’t, they were asked to come forward.

Children of homosexuals speak out AGAINST same-sex marriage, tell of unpleasant upbringings

Wow. This is an article I didn’t see coming. There are four children (now adults) of homosexual couples, who call themselves the “quartet of truth”, that are speaking out against same-sex marriage in a court case where the courts are trying to determine whether to uphold Texas’ traditional marriage laws.

Perhaps in a minority, at least three of these children feel their stories need to be heard by the courts as they tell of rather unpleasant and highly sexual upbringings.

What Archaeologists Just Put on Display Has Bible Believers Saying “I Told You So” to Atheists

In the seventh chapter of Genesis, a flood that covered mountains and destroyed virtually all mankind and most of the earth’s living creatures is described in some detail.

In addition to the biblical account, virtually every culture records this flood in one form or another in myths and legends of various sorts.

And so, some can now argue, does the fossil record.
